Guys I haven’t been posting much here lately. I’ve set my personal page to have the same links with my works in it on my personal page at myeverythingandnothing.tumblr.com.
Hop over and say hello!

I was surfing a website full of writing exercises and activities to hone your skills, and I stumbled onto the poetry section. They had a long list of lines that you could use as a jumping off point. One of the lines was “Your fingerprints are all around the room.” It reminded me of a conversation I had recently with my wife, so I ran with it. “Fingerprints” is another sonnet (I guess you would call it a “modern” sonnet), because having form usually makes me feel more comfortable, however you may start to see my poetry veer away from it a bit. I feel like I may have been able to do more with this one if I had not tried to adhere to the form, but I’m fairly satisfied with it. Maybe next time. Thanks so much for reading!

The first short I’ve completed for the series, “Static” was based on a call I received several years ago that has stuck with me since. The young man that called had a sincere and terrified tone in his voice that led me to believe that it wasn’t a prank call. Sure enough, it was not.
Thanks for reading and I hope you dig it. Keep looking for more in the series.

When I first took my job as a 911 dispatcher, I thought that it would be fertile ground for writing material. Now that I’ve been here five years and haven’t written the first thing, I’ve decided it’s past time to begin my series of short stories based on actual calls I’ve received and call them “The 911 Diaries.” All of these stories will be based on real 911 calls, but I’ve taken the point of view of the caller which adds the fictional element to them (or does it?). I hope you enjoy them and I’ll try to keep them coming as much as possible, but bear in mind that 90% of the calls I deal with are very routine and uninteresting. However, I have five years of material saved up, so I should be able to crank out a few with minimal delay. Thanks for reading and tell your friends and followers to follow us!

There haven’t been a lot of posts lately because -L has been in a transitional flux with life coming from Salt Lake to Ga again. Soon, however we shall return.
This is a photo I took in an old cemetary one night, trying to get the statue seen in the background. The most prominent image in the picture seems to be the mother and child, so that is what I named it. Enjoy!

Ghosts, by Christopher Leaptrott, is a free form work without a rhyming structure. This work is special to me because it is the first one I’ve ever read at an open-mic and it was met with approval. The work takes us through, what I hope, is vivid imagery and thought provoking ideas.
